Miguel Angel Espinoza Borjas was born in Lima Perú. Miguel started singing Peruvian “música criolla” at the age of 12 . He started singing in a program of the National Radio of Peru called “La Guardia Nueva,” or the “New Guard,” conducted by Cecilia del Risco,La Dama del Verso “The Lady of Poetry.” He won second place in the first contest of Radio America with a group called “Juventud Victoria Criolla.” In 1986 he came to the U.S., but it wasn’t until 1988 that he found some Peruvian musicians he had met in Peru and started to singing again. With his first gig he won best interpreter in the city of San Diego, where he currently resides. He has also coordinated shows in San Diego for Peruvian stars such as Eva Ayllon, Lucia de la Cruz, Edith Barr, Armonia Criolla and the great Peru Negro, in order to support the music he so passionately loves. His second musical release “Horas de Amor,” has great musicians such as Oscar Cavero, guitarist for Eva Ayllon, Julian Jimenez, guitarist for Cecilia Barraza and arranger Mariano Liy.
